MESA Graduate Student Paper Prize

MESA Graduate Student Paper Award 2008
University and College Faculty are invited to nominate graduate student research papers on any aspect of post 600 CE Middle Eastern Studies for the MESA Graduate Student Paper Award.

Only the work of current graduate students is eligible, but papers produced during July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008 will be considered. Papers must be no longer than 7500 words and may not have been published by the time of submission. They must be received at the Secretariat by July 7, 2008. Papers will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of MESA members. Papers will be evaluated according to originality of research and conceptualization (or interpretation), cogency of argument, and clarity of writing. Proof of student status must be provided with the submission. 2008 Malcolm H. Kerr Dissertation Award candidates are not eligible for the 2008 Graduate Student Paper Award. The award will be announced at the annual meeting awards ceremony and the winner will be recognized in the MESA Newsletter. Submission deadline: July 7, 2008.
