“No, It’s Not Anti-Semitic”

In response to Harvard President
Lawrence Summers' 2002 statement that any criticism
of Israel
is anti-semitic, Judith Bulter contends that his
statement mutes criticism of a state’s actions through
fear of being labeled racist. Summers’ declaration
misconstrued political ideology as cultural identity and
failed to
acknowledge
that Jews themselves hold varying opinions on the actions
